The idea emerged in the middle of the night, in a dream of Élisabeth Voyer, a naturopath convinced that there was a lack of high-quality, locally made nut butters. She spoke about it with Louise Gingras, who in turn got on board after noticing that all the nut butters sold in stores came from elsewhere: Toronto, Vancouver, California.
The company obtained its first official labels on October 1, 2015. Sales began in public markets, then the products appeared in stores: first in the Laurentians, then in Montreal, Outaouais, Ottawa, and Quebec City.
After several years of growing the company, Élisabeth and Louise retired and passed the torch to Philippe Rhinan, who continues the tradition and artisanal know-how that have built Cru Nature's reputation today.
Since then, Philippe personally ensures that each jar meets the same quality standards established from the beginning. Proud to take over this project born from a simple conviction: to offer Quebecers true raw nut butters, made locally, he continues to grow it with the same rigor, while keeping the company resolutely artisanal and local.
